Terms of Service

Last updated: October 19, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you, as a creator, and Socommerce when you sign up to socommerce.io. Please read them, and Section 3 above all: it says what happens to the videos you make. How we handle your personal data is in our Privacy Policy.

1. Who We Are and What Socommerce Does

socommerce.io is operated by Socommerce LTD, a company registered in the United Kingdom under company number 17378950, with its registered office at 27 Old Gloucester Street, London, WC1N 3AX, United Kingdom (“Socommerce”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

Brands offer programs: a commission rate and the products it covers. You join a program, by accepting a brand’s invitation or by asking to join and being accepted. You make videos of its products and send them to the brand. When a sale comes through your link, you earn commission on it.

Socommerce sits between you and the brand. We buy your videos and the right to use them from you, and sell them on to the brand. The brand pays us; we pay you. You do not invoice the brand, and the brand does not pay you directly.

Working with brands through us.Brands come to you through socommerce.io, and commission is how you are paid for the work. While you are a member of one of a brand’s programs, and for twelve (12) months after, you do not make videos, run ads or promote products for that brand, or take payment from it, outside socommerce.io, unless you agree it with us first. The brand has promised us the same about you.

2. Your Account

  • You must be 18 or over to have an account.
  • One account per person. The account is yours alone: do not share your login or let anyone else use it.
  • What you tell us must be true, and you keep it up to date.
  • Brands can see your profile.Once you finish onboarding, every brand on socommerce.io can read your answers — your name, username, photo, gender, the year you were born, where you are, what you make and earn — and watch your portfolio videos. That is how brands find creators to invite. Brands do not see your email address or your exact date of birth.

3. Your Videos and How They Are Used

The videos you send a brand will be used for advertising. That is what the brand is paying for. Once a brand accepts one of your videos, we hand it to the brand and to the people who run its ads. The brand may then run it as a paid ad on Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and anywhere else it advertises, and post it on its own channels.

The licence you give

For every video a brand accepts, you give Socommerce, and Socommerce passes on to that brand, the right to:

  • copy, edit, cut, shorten, caption, subtitle, add music or text to, and translate it;
  • run it, whole or edited, as paid ads and as organic posts, on any website, app or social network;
  • let the brand's agencies and media buyers do the same for the brand.

That licence is:

  • Worldwide— the brand may use the video anywhere.
  • Perpetual— it has no end date, as long as the brand stays on socommerce.io.
  • Ended when the brand leaves— if a brand closes its account or disconnects its shop, it can no longer pay commission on your videos, so it must stop using them.
  • Kept when you leave— if you leave a program, are removed from it, the program ends or you close your account, the brand may keep using the videos it already accepted. Until you close your account, sales through them still earn you commission (see Section 6).
  • Paid for by commission— you are paid for the licence through commission on the sales your link brings, and not with any other fee.

You keep ownership

Your videos stay yours. The licence is non-exclusive: you may still post them on your own accounts and show them as examples of your work. The brand can watch a video you send before it decides. You can withdraw a video before the brand accepts it; a video the brand did not accept, or that you withdrew, is not licensed and the brand cannot download it.

Your portfolio

The videos in your profile’s portfolio are only for brands to watch, so they can decide whether to invite you. They are never handed over to a brand and never used for advertising.

Samples

For each product you hold a place on, you can ask the brand once for one free unit to make your video with, giving the name, address and phone number to send it to. The brand decides whether to send it. If it accepts, we create a free order in its shop with those details, so the brand and its shipping partners see them. The sample is yours to keep; you do not pay for it or send it back, and you are not paid for it beyond the commission your video earns.

What you promise about your videos

  • You made the video, and it is yours to license.
  • Everyone who appears in it, or whose voice is heard, has agreed to it being used for advertising as described above.
  • Any music, image, logo or other material in it is yours, cleared for advertising, or added by the brand.
  • It is not misleading about the product, and it follows the brand's brief and the advertising rules where it will run, including saying that it is an ad where those rules require it.

If a video breaks one of these promises and the brand or we face a claim because of it, you are responsible for that claim.

4. Commission and Payment

  • What earns.A sale earns commission when an order in the brand’s shop has been paid and our tracking matches it to your link. Commission is worked out on the price of the products you promoted in that order, after discounts, without shipping or VAT.
  • Your rate is locked when you join.You earn at the program’s rate on the day you joined. If the brand raises its rate later, you move up with it; any other change only applies to creators who join after it. A program may cap what one creator earns in a calendar month.
  • Pounds or euros.Each program pays in the currency of the brand’s shop, pounds sterling or euros, and your earnings are kept and paid out in that currency. We do not convert between the two; if your bank account is in another currency, your bank converts the payout at its own rate.
  • Refunds reverse commission. If an order is refunded, in full or in part, the commission on the refunded products is taken back, even after you were paid; it comes out of your next earnings.
  • When you are paid.Commission is shown at once, and becomes available once the brand has paid us for it. We do not pay out money a brand has not paid. When your available commission reaches £25 or €25, we move it to your Stripe account; you press Withdraw to send it to your bank, or we pay it out for you 85 days after it arrived.
  • Stripe.Payments to you are made through Stripe, and you agree to Stripe’s terms for the account it opens for you. Stripe checks your identity and holds your bank details; we never see them.
  • Self-billing. You do not write invoices. Before your first payment you accept our self-billing agreement, on the Set up payouts page of your Wallet, and we then write a self-billed statement for every transfer to you.
  • Tax. You are responsible for your own tax. Before your first Withdraw we ask for your legal name, date of birth and tax number, because the law requires us to report what we pay creators to tax authorities in the UK and the EU. If you tell us you have no tax number, you are still paid, and we remind you twice; if sixty (60) days after you told us you have still not given one, or confirmed that your country issued you none and told us where you were born, your new earnings stay with us until you do. What is already in your Stripe account remains yours to withdraw.

5. Fraud

Commission is for sales your videos bring. We take back commission on any sale we find to be fraudulent, whether or not you have already been paid for it. That includes:

  • buying through your own link, or having someone buy for you, to earn commission;
  • putting your link where people were already going to buy — for example on a deal or coupon site — so that you are credited for a sale the brand would have had anyway;
  • buying and then returning products to earn commission;
  • any other way of making our tracking credit you for a sale your work did not bring.

We may close the account of a creator who commits fraud.

6. Leaving and Ending

  • You can leave a program at any time. A brand can remove you from a program, or end the program. Either way you stop getting new products and send it no new videos, but sales through the videos it already accepted keep earning you commission, at the rate you were locked to.
  • You can close your account by writing to info@socommerce.io. We pay out what we owe you, less anything you owe us, and delete your account as our Privacy Policy describes. Sales after that earn nothing, as there is no longer an account to pay.
  • We can close your account if you break these terms, with notice where we can give it.
  • Videos a brand has already accepted stay licensed to it (Section 3), whatever ends.

7. Liability, Changes and the Law

Liability

We provide socommerce.io as it is, and do not promise that it will always be available or free of errors, or that any brand will invite you or that any video will sell. We are not responsible for what a brand does with its products or its ads. Our total liability to you is limited to the commission we paid you in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. For a material change, we will tell you by email or in the app at least thirty (30) days before it takes effect. The date at the top of this page is the version: the terms you agreed to are the latest version dated on or before the day you signed up.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales decide any dispute about them. If you live in the EU, you keep the protection of the law of the country you live in where it cannot be set aside by agreement.
